Pocahontas State Park Engagement in Chesterfield, VA

A snowy & cold winter weekend in Virginia has left me wishing for warmer weather and reminiscing about the gorgeous fall light we found during Bethany & Eric’s engagement session in Pocahontas State Park. We have about six inches of snow in our back yard right now and I don’t know about you but I’m the type of person who loves the thought of snow because it is so gorgeous as it is falling and covering everything in a blanket of white, but I only need about one day of it to get my fill for the entire year.

Really, I’m like a bear. As soon as cold weather hits, you can find me hibernating under thick down blankets and piles of dogs. Give me a good book, a warm cup of tea and I’ll be perfectly content sitting in front of our fire where I can stay warm all day long. This “human hibernation” does have its advantages though: it means I finally have the chance to catch up on my blogging and I am well on my way to achieving one of my goals for 2017.

I absolutely love everything that has to do with wedding photography. But, one of my very favorite parts is getting to know my VBW couples and hearing all about their love story – how they met, how he proposed and that moment when they both realize they couldn’t live without each other. Each couple’s story is unique, special and just right as if woven into the band the couple will soon wear on their ring fingers. Bethany and Eric are no exception to this and I have a feeling that words wont be able to do their love story (which is more like a love adventure) justice.

They met almost 5 years ago and after he returned from deployment they went on an adventure to Paris where he proposed on the Eiffel tower. Bethany told me Eric’s proposal was quirky yet perfect in every way, and with a setting like the Eiffel tower I would have to agree!

I had such a great time getting to know Bethany & Eric during their engagement session and hearing about all of their adventures they have been on together. Bethany’s laugh and smile is so infectious, we literally spent our entire session laughing the evening away.
