One year ago I set a pretty big goal for myself and wanted to photograph 10 weddings. I was just starting out and entering the world of wedding photography. As someone who had never owned my own business before, this was a pretty scary thing to do. I practiced, I studied, I soaked up any and all bits of information relating to weddings and photography and my first year in business completely blew me away. I ended up photographing 22 weddings! Y’all! That was over twice the amount of weddings I originally set out to do! In October, I celebrated my 1 year busanniversary (yes, I just made that word up) and to thank everyone for their support I decided to give away an engagement session to 3 recently engaged couples. I was completely blown away by the amount of responses I received and I truly enjoyed reading each and everyone’s submission.
When I came across Jessica and Christian’s, Jessica described themselves as having a passion for life and loves how driven Christian is. They love spending time trying to live life to its fullest through adventure and enjoying the little moments together. Jessica’s entry immediately reminded me why I started doing wedding photography in the first place – I wanted to celebrate a couple’s love for each other and be there to capture the memories as they were created.
Jessica and I decided to meet for coffee and began planning their engagement session almost immediately. I absolutely loved her vision and couldn’t wait to see how it would all play out in photographs. Photographing a wedding is all about telling a story and I actually look at engagement sessions the same way! I had such a great time during their Libbie Hill engagement session and I can’t wait for their wedding in August – which just so happens to be on my wedding anniversary (best day EVER!)
Here are some of my favorites from their engagement session! Enjoy!!
